Day 5:

Breakfast: Slept through it.

Lunch: Decaf coffee with cream and no sugar. California Cobb grilled chicken salad at McDonalds. Had.. lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cabbage, eggs, bacon bits. I scooped out the cheese cuz it smelled nasty. Oh, and grilled chicken. I was given a fat-free vinagrette which I exchanged for a full fat caesar dressing because fat-free stuff by its nature has lots of carbs. The guy at the counter thought I was weird.

Me: Do you have a non-non-fat dressing?
Guy: (takes the dressing) But this already is fat free.
Me: No, I mean, do you have one with fat? I mean, one that's not not fat free..
Guy: Uh, yes.

Dinner: Bamboo Buffet! Woohoo. Just to see if I could eat there. Grilled salmon, steamed flounder, fried squid, green beans, red and green peppers, zuchinni, lobster, shrimp, some beef and onions, some peppered chicken, mushrooms, tuna sashimi, egg drop soup, mussels, crispy duck, the cream in a cream puff. Was actually a lot better than what I usually eat, which is just rice and orange chicken and sushi and egg custard tarts. I had a glass of water originally but my duck fell into it so I had a cuppa decaf coffee with cream and no sugar. I've discovered that I really don't need to add sweetener to my coffee for it to taste good.

Therefore:

Accumulated Poundate Lost: 4.0 total, +0.5 today. Serves me right for going to a buffet.

Observation: I'm always lightest during the morning, heaviest at night. Then I wake up the next morning and I'm lighter.

Still not thin yet.

Day 4

Breakfast: Nothing, I slept through it. HAHAHA! SNOW DAY!

Lunch: Chicken and celery dumplings boiled in chicken broth with bok choi. I didn't eat the dumpling wrappings.

Dinner: Pork cutlet in soy sauce with chopped cellery.

Accumulated Poundage Lost: Hum. Fluctuated strangely today. I woke up in the .. afternoon.. to found out I'd lost two pounds, went outside to shovel the snow, ate my dumplings, found out I'd gained back 1.5 pounds, lost one pound, and this is where I am at now. So.. I'd say.. 1.5 pounds today, 4.5 total. I really shouldn't weigh myself more than once a day. It's silly.

Note: Malex's mom is also on Atkins. This is V. Good because I know that there is food at Malex's house I can eat.

Upper Arm Update: Jiggly.

Still Not Thin Yet.

Atkins!

Day 1 (Tuesday February 4, 2003. Cuz on Monday I got sidetracked eating immense amounts of chocolate I bought from choir people and the immense amounts of candy Gesterling gave out in stat and the immense amounts of candy Mrs. Wang gave us for Chinese New Year)

Breakfast: Nothing

Lunch: Salad with: lettuce, tomatoes, three olives, green peppers, egg salad, chicken salad, a nice vinagrette.

2nd Lunch (aka afternoon): some slices of roast, eggplant.

Dinner: Eggplant, chicken.

Note: I could not sleep because I was pining for bread and croissants and peach ice cream (Dad: You sure you don't want any?) and orange juice and because my leg hurt like the dickens. Left leg: known throughout my childhood as 'piano pains' because my mom used to think I was faking the pains to avoid practicing the piano. My dad told me to put on some Ben Gay, even though I told him I wasn't having cramps (which Dr. Atkins says to take potassium or magnesium supplements for) or muscle pains (can't describe it really, but the best I can do is to say that it felt like someone was pulling on my bones and stretching them out. Traditionally, I can manage the pains by taking a hot bath or falling asleep.) I applied Ben Gay and just ended up smelling like Ben Gay, and my leg felt frozen (it's that damn icy hot sensation, no it is not a good thing)and in pain. Finally collapsed, despite going to bed at 11, at 1 in the morning.

Accumulated Poundage lost: 1.

Day 2 (Wednesday Febraury 5, 2003)

Breakfast: One hard boiled egg furtively in physics, one hard boiled egg during the Assembly. Put down my weight for (the graduation ceremony gown ordering forms) as ten pounds lighter even though they told us not to. Well.. it's not lying! It's educated prediction!

Lunch: See Day 1 lunch, except replace chicken salad with some grilled chicken strips (they still had frost on them when I sat down to eat them before Lunch Bunch; very sketchy. I let them thaw and ate them on the way to 5th period. Ah, the joys of cafeteria salad.) I had no olives. Also, I had some cucumber slices.

Afternoon: Eggplant. Not the whole thing, moron. Some slices.

Dinner: Shrimp, bok choy, stewed mushrooms, seaweed, two oysters/mussels or something. Took a calcium supplement in hopes of staving off bone pains.

Accumulated Poundage Lost: 2.

Day 3 (Thursday February 6, 2003)

Breakfast: Chai!!!!!

Lunch: Two hard boiled eggs.

2nd Lunch: "Yum Hua" at Tara Asia. Was a salad with "tenderloin steak strips" in shredded cabbage, tomato slices, chopped celery, (carrot shreds which I didn't eat because it's prohibited), cloves, onions, scallions, and lettuce in some funky spicy dressing. I think the lettuce was supposed to be ornamental but I ate it anyway. Tara Asia has a lot of stuff I can eat, but not much I could afford. Stalked CalTor and Potbelly's for future dining reference.. CalTor had some taco salad type things. Potbelly's had.. well, it's a sandwich shop. So there's like.. one soup there that I'm allowed to eat on this diet. Ben and Jerry's is out of question. TarAze gave me a nice after lunch mint. It's sitting around forlornly at home now, waiting for someone to eat it.

Dinner: Braised fish (don't ask me what type of fish, I'm not some kind of culinary freak.. I think it was steamed?), squash of some sort. Realized, to my joy, that I am, on this diet, most likely allowed to be able to drink soy milk. This adds to my GIANT list of allowed beverages: water... mineral water... seltzer water... broth (oh c'mon! That's so not a beverage!).. decaf tea and decaf coffee with artificial sweetener made from.. Nutrose? What the hell. (aka Sweet n' Low/Splenda, not Nutrasweet or Equal). Had my calcium tablet again.

Note: Leg bone pains anyhow. Right leg, minor. I can probably sleep on it. Drinking massive amounts of water, going to the bathroom incredibly often. Malex observed once that I have a bladder the size of a pea. Now it's half a pea. May just be MSG from Tara Asia. Damn Chinese.
